A tropical cyclone warning has been updated for areas of northern Queensland now that Tropical Cyclone Imogen has officially formed. The entire area is expecting colossal rainfalls in coming days with wet weather forecast along the coastline.

“Once Imogen makes landfall, it will become slow-moving over the southern Cape York Peninsula as a tropical low,” the BoM said.

Residents have been warned to brace for gale force winds, abnormally high tides, large waves and heavy rainfall.
